Session #5 on 3/30/13
Tentative lesson plan: Practice conversation skills and review pronunciation techniques.
3/31/13 Update:
What we did for the 3/30/13 class. We went through a set of conversation tips focused on communication, then practiced conversations in "speed dating" style. Conversation topics included sharing our name and its meaning, where we lived at age 10, our favorite childhood hobby, our first car/home/pet. We switched partners every 6 minutes and at the end of the class each person stood up to introduce one of their conversation partners.

Session #4 on 3/16/13
We're going to practice presentation and reading skills for Session #4.
We'll provide brochures and materials for this class. Each person picks a brochure, and then "sells" the product on the brochure for 5 minutes to the rest of the class. Participants will provide constructive feedback to one another.
You can also bring an actual presentation that you're working on for any purpose (bring your laptop and we'll have a projector with adaptors).
3/16/13 Session update:
4 students came to practice presentation skills. We practiced "selling" items to the rest of the class including Tesla cars, a trip to the wine country, instant glutinous rice, multi-vitamins, and perfume. We shared techniques such as eye contact, using stories to personalize the conversation, summarizing the sales pitch, and affirming the audience.
